Visit Empordanet presents a new tourist campaign proposing 'A marathon of experiences'

La Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret come together again to add and introduce an Empordane that can be explored through the experiences offered by its people. This morning, the new Visit Empordanet campaign 'A marathon of experiences' was presented at a press conference in Plaça del rebot de Corçà with the presence of the mayor of Bisbal, Enric Marquès; the mayor of Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Dani Encinas; the mayor of Corçà, Raül Yruela; the Councilor for Tourism of Forallac, Marta Chicot; the first deputy mayor of Ullastret, Santi Saló; Visit Empordanet technician, Anna Sàbat; and Gaetan Chapel, artisan stonecutter of Visit Empordanet who completed the event with a demonstration and a stone sculpted with the Visit Empordanet logo.

The new tourism campaign, under the name 'A marathon of experiences', aims to reinforce the richness of the territory of the municipalities involved, where tradition, passion and landscape converge. In this sense, some forty affiliated establishments, including accommodation, restaurants, companies and entities that offer multiple activities to discover the territory: pottery workshops, visits to workshops, tastings of km 0 products, activities and excursions by the hand of the people who live there

The campaign has the collaboration of the business fabric of the area and aims to be a reflection of the commitment to a model of responsible tourism, which generates respect between tourists and the local population and which, at the same time, contributes to the conservation and dissemination of natural and cultural heritage. That's why 'A marathon of experiences' offers activities that allow visitors to discover the landscape, the towns, the gastronomy and the crafts of our territory by sharing privileged moments with their local population, a marathon of experiences at Visit Empordanet.

A start with a weekend full of activities

This year, for the start of the campaign, on the weekend of May 14 and 15, the activity companies affiliated to Visit Empordanet will offer all their activities: more than twenty scheduled proposals and 5 guided tours (one per municipality). It will be a weekend that will mark the start of a marathon of experiences to be able to tour the territory getting to know it from the hands of its people. The new Strategic Economic and Occupational Development Plan for Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret

Today's press conference also served to present the horizon of the new Strategic Economic and Occupational Development Plan for Bisbal, Forallac Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret (2023-2028). The objective is to contemplate new strategic lines of action in order to continue increasing the employment and business development opportunities offered by the territory through joint and coordinated action between the municipalities that make it up. The new Strategic Development and Occupational Plan will continue to bring added value to municipalities with a spectacular landscape, original activities aimed at experiencing the craftsmanship of the area and with a potential to create endless synergies.

"Today's event is an example of the harmony of the municipalities that make up the Strategic Plan", explained the mayor of Bisbal Enric Marquès. "In order to continue working together and after these difficult years due to the pandemic situation, funding has been requested from the SOC to be able to hire a company to analyze the last Plan (2015-2021) and create a new Strategic Plan in order to to have a road map for the next 5 years", he added. Thus, it will begin by analyzing the previous Strategic Plan, assessing the achievement of the objectives of each strategic line and creating a new diagnosis to be able to see the strengths and weaknesses of the territory as a whole. "Thanks to the diagnosis, a new action plan for the Strategic Plan 2023-2028 will be created that will allow us to focus our efforts on economically stimulating the 5 municipalities as a whole and develop strategies that help us grow as a territory", concluded Marquès . It has been 7 years since Bisbal, Forallac, Ullastret, Corçà, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura have worked together to boost the economy of a territory thanks to the first strategic plan that was drawn up.
