Ullastret is one of the best-preserved mediaeval villages in the Empordà, at the same time as one of the least known ones. Its impressive walls encircle a small nucleus of narrow, steep streets. They still preserved 10 towers!
Inside, there is the church of Sant Pere d’Ullastret, of Romanesque origin with numerous modifications and the Llotja, a covered Gothic-style square where the market was held.
